This 8’ x 16’ compact pool is plumbed like a spa—often referred to as a “spool” or swim spa. Essentially, it’s an oversized spa that offers dual functionality: you can enjoy it like a traditional spa or use it as a small “cocktail pool” on hot days when you don’t necessarily want the water heated. The client wanted both a water feature and a fire feature, so we designed a 10’ raised bond beam at 18” high with a tiered spillway. On each side, we built 30” pilasters topped with fire bowls, creating a dramatic focal point that ties the entire vision together. This project delivered exactly what the client wanted—a beautiful, multifunctional water feature that proves you don’t need a large pool to elevate your forever home.
